Noise Canceling Microphones

!±8± Noise Canceling Microphones

A noise-canceling microphone is one that cancels any unwanted, disturbing surrounding sounds by using an active noise control. In this process, the microphone is placed near the ear and the electronic circuitry generates an antinomies sound wave that is 180 degrees out of phase, from the sound coming towards the microphone.

Some of the companies that make noise-canceling microphones are Sony, Aiwa, and Bose. The advantage that these types of microphones provide is that they are not very taxing on the electronic circuitry. One of the disadvantages of using a noise-canceling microphone is that they need an electrical supply from a battery. Sometimes, they emit high frequency hissing sounds that become annoying after some time.

The models available in the market are, Aiwa HP CN 6, AKG k 28 NC, Bose Quite Comfort, and Jensen c51. Noise canceling microphones are very useful when listening to music, when installed in lawn mowers, and refrigerators. Noise canceling microphones are also used in the military, to receive accurate and clear audio communication. Telephone conversations can also be made noise free with the help of these microphones. Mountaineers who undertake difficult expeditions also benefit from these microphones because some models are designed to work in a full pressure type oxygen helmet. Telephones can be modified and made easier to operate by installing these microphones. The noise in the background makes it very difficult for the speaker to understand the person at the other end. These microphones clarify speech, which would otherwise end up as a muffled, annoying conversation.

It can be clearly judged from the observations made on these microphones that noise-canceling microphones are used in every walk of life and in almost every profession, especially the entertainment industry. These microphones have revolutionized the approach towards noise pollution and keeping it effectively under control.

Bose Wave Music System - A Review

!±8± Bose Wave Music System - A Review

The Bose Wave music system has been around for many years now and has also been one of Bose's best-selling models. The latest generation of this award-winning sound system is a CD, radio and MP3 player. The new model comes in slate gray and platinum white.

Like many Bose product, this is a button-less sound system where you will need to use the remote for volume control and other configurations. The remote is very small, barely larger than the palm of your hands and is very easy to use (it would help to read the manual though as some of the buttons have dual-functions).

In terms of designed, the manufacturer has retained its classic and minimalist design on the Bose Wave music system. The front panel of the unit consists of two speakers, a LED display and a small slot for CDs. You can also connect the system to your iPod by using a separate iPod dock. It can also be connected to other playback devices such as DVD players.

This latest generation of Bose Wave music system does sound better than its predecessors. Like all Bose products, the quality and performance of this tiny sound system is comparable to large surround sound systems. Although it may be just a small 2-speaker tabletop unit, it can easily be used as the main sound system for a small or averaged sized rooms. The bass produced were deep and rich. This little machine can also achieve incredible volume levels. For its size, it arguably produces the best audio playback among any other models in the market. It also receives radio signals very well and can save up to 6 of your favorite channels.

If you are looking for a simple, single unit sound system that produces amazing audio playbacks, look no further than the Bose Wave music system. It may be a little on the pricey side, but as with all Bose products, you always get what you pay for!

Bose Wave Music System - An Honest Review

!±8± Bose Wave Music System - An Honest Review

Bose Corporation has been in the tabletop radio/music system business since 1984.The newest result of its efforts, the Bose Music Wave System, offers the same simplicity for which its products are well known for. Instead of the previous version's top-loading CD player, this new version has a front-loading one. In addition to that, there are no longer buttons on the front. Instead, you control the system by use of a small remote that handles both the stereo's CD and radio functions. The buttons on the remote are clearly labeled for ease of use. Unfortunately, the size of the remote makes it very easy to lose.

One of the objectives that the Bose Corporation had with the Bose Music Wave System was to decrease its size while improving the quality of the sound. They managed to achieve this goal, to the point that its speakers are of better quality than many other more expensive systems. However, the remote does not have any control over the loudness of the treble or the bass. If you feel that there is an imbalance between these two, you are out of luck.

Another good selling point for the Bose Music Wave System is that it sports a 30-day free trial period. Therefore, if you are unhappy with the lack of buttons, the quality of the sound, or anything else, you have a chance to return it, free of charge. The clock on the system is quite handy where you can set alarms and wake up to CD or radio music. You also have a choice in color between platinum white and slate gray.

The Bose SoundDock Range

!±8± The Bose SoundDock Range

Bose have a great reputation in the audio market for the excellent product design, build quality and of course their audio performance. Best known for their high end hi-fi equipment and wave speaker technology, Bose have turned their attention to the digital market over the past few years and now hold true their excellent reputation in the iPod dock market with the highly rated Bose SoundDock range of docking stations. These SoundDocks are fantastic way to quickly transform your iPod music collection from their rather tinny headphone only world into a full on hi-fi experience in your home (or even on the move depending on which model you go for!).

The SoundDock range is split into four different models each with different features to cater to individual needs. Despite the vary level of price between the different models they all share one thing in common which is fantastic audio reproduction. The base model, its full moniker being the 'Bose Sounddock iPod Digital Music System' will cover most peoples needs and does exactly what you'd expect. Simply dock your iPod in the cradle and you'll be enjoying rich quality sound in your living room. The base model, as with every model in the range, charges your iPod when it's docked, and comes with a remote.

The next model up is called the Series II and is more or less the same as the base model with the exception of one particular feature - the Series II is also equipped with an auxiliary port so you can use pretty much any kind of audio equipment with it, not just your iPod. The third model in the series is called the SoundDock Portable... can you guess what sets this one apart? Running from a rechargeable battery, as opposed to mains power, the SoundDock Portable can be grabbed by its carry handle and hey presto, you've got the Bose audio experience on the move! The final, top end model in the range is the SoundDock 10 - a genuine big brother to the rest of the series it really is a significant step up from its smaller siblings.

Whilst the rest of the range share very similar, if not identical innards, the SoundDock 10 usually a substantially higher end speaker and amplifier set up for genuine high-end hi-fi quality sound. The price of the SoundDock 10 is a tad eye watering, especially when compared to the lower models in the range, but for the audiophile it is certainly worth investigating if nothing but the best will do!
